For Parents

  • Parents Involvement

Parents have such an important role in the success of their children’s education, considering that we encourage parents and families to get involved directly in the program. Beyond our open door policy, which means that you are welcome at any time during the day, we also offer program activities for the parents to join the children in the classroom as readers or guests, and volunteers for special occasions such as celebrations, field trips, and garden projects, as well as parent-teacher conferences.
  • An open line of communication with the parents is essential in the process, considering that we offer diverse forms of parents-teacher communication. We send home daily forms for infants and toddlers; a folder is required for the communication between parents and teachers. Weekly forms are sent home for preschoolers, which contain relevant information about your child. The monthly newsletter for each classroom is available for the parents, in which you can learn about the themes they are going to work on during the month, the activities, the special events, etc.

  • Each class has a web page in which only the parents have access to see pictures, videos and all the information related to the class: newsletters, calendars, contact list, volunteering opportunities. The page provides also direct parents-teachers communication through e-mail.

    • In the case of an emergency during hours of operation, our parents will be contacted for immediate pick up.
    • If a weather emergency arises prior to opening, we will follow the Orange and Seminole County Public School announced guidance to resume operations.

In our school we respect each child’s social-emotional development and we work to help them build their emotional intelligence, encouraging techniques for self-control, and other activities which will help develop character, cooperation, respect and responsibility.

Using the Conscious Discipline Approach, we teach the children to make “right choices”, and to solve problems. We use redirecting, cool off and talk it over.

We participate on the USDA Food Program providing nutritional breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack every day.

We strive to ensure children receive as many healthy, “home-cooked” recipes from scratch. We can expect to see meals with whole wheat products, and fresh fruits and vegetables.

We absolutely keep in mind all known food allergies of our students when the menus are planned.

A main part of our philosophy is teaching the emerging generations the importance of our planet preservation. We promote in the children the feeling of belong and provide opportunities for them to develop a relationship with nature thought hands on activities such as: gardening, outdoors games and exploration little trips, as well as teaching them in the daily basis the essential practices of REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE.
